QbTest is an FDA-cleared device used for assessing the core symptoms of ADHD: hyperactivity, inattention and impulsivity. It helps healthcare professionals to more accurately identify or rule out ADHD in patients 6-60 years old more effectively as well as monitor the long-term changes in symptoms over time. The QbTest results should always be complemented by a clinical interview.
QbTest is a test to evaluate the symptoms of ADHD for children and adults that combines motion-tracking analysis with a uniquely designed continuous performance task.
During the 15-20 minute task, the patient is instructed to respond as quickly and accurately as possible to certain geometric shapes appearing on a computer screen by pressing a responder button. As the patient performs the task, a camera located above the computer records movement from a reflector located on the patient's forehead.
When the test is finished, the unbiased result is compared with an age and gender adjusted norm group to set the context for the patient's performance.
The result is then presented in easy-to-understand reports within 90 seconds. To view more on how QbTest reports can be used in a clinical case, click here.
The administration is easy to perform and follows five basic steps.
Our committed support teams support you with everything from installation of QbTest to interpretation of test reports.
To benefit from our continuous research and development, you are always upgraded to the latest QbTest version.
Our onsite and online training & certification program gives you the skills to administer and interpret a QbTest successfully.
QbTest is not meant to be a standalone tool for diagnosing ADHD. Instead, QbTest is designed to be added to the assessment process along with clinical interview and rating scales. QbTests' objective data is an important corner of the diagnostic triangle, along with clinical interview and rating scales. By adding QbTest to the assessment and monitoring process you can get a better view of ADHD.
In fact in a study conducted on both children and adolescents, QbTest increased diagnostic accuracy when used during clinical assessment of ADHD as measured by subsequent rates of revised diagnosis over a 12-month period. In comparison to clinical procedure including clinical interview, and rating scales alone, QbTest improved diagnostic accuracy by 20%.
At Qbtech, we are dedicated to finding a more efficient and effective way to diagnose and manage treatment of ADHD in children and adults. More than 30+ studies have been independently conducted using QbTest in various settings. We are committed to ongoing research and actively have more than 15+ studies being conducted in Europe and the United States with the objective to continue to provide our network of clinics with cutting edge technology that never stops improving.
We collaborate with several research groups specializing in ADHD and coexisting disorders both in children and adults. The scope of these studies includes:
Methods to better discriminate ADHD from conditions with similar symptom profiles
Responsiveness to and detectability of long-term effects of treatments
Evaluation of non-pharmacological interventions in ADHD
Clinical utility of the QbTest
